Rosemary Oil for Hair

Rosemary Oil for Hair

Rosemary oil is the most talked-about natural hair ingredient right now.

There is a real study behind that.

There is also a lot of noise around it.

Here is what the research found, and here is what rosemary does in A.

The study people are talking about

In 2015, researchers in Iran ran a trial and published it in a journal called SKINmed.

They took 100 people with pattern hair loss.

Half used rosemary oil.

Half used minoxidil, the drugstore hair loss treatment.

Both groups rubbed it into their scalp twice a day for six months.

At three months, nothing had changed for either group.

At six months, both groups had more hair. The rosemary group did about as well as the minoxidil group. The rosemary group also had less itching.

That is a real result from a real study.

What the study does not tell us

It was one study with 100 people.

That is not large.

It ran for six months.

Nobody knows what happened after that.

Everyone in it had the same kind of hair loss, the genetic kind.

It does not tell us about other kinds.

It is promising.

It is not proof.

How this relates to A

We want to be straight with you here.

The study used pure rosemary oil, rubbed into the scalp, twice a day, for six months.

A is not that.

A has a small amount of rosemary oil in it, mixed with avocado oil and argan oil, and most people use it on their face and the ends of their hair.

So we are not going to tell you A will regrow your hair.

That is not what it is for, and we would rather you knew that before you bought it.

If you want to try what the study did, look for pure rosemary essential oil, dilute it, and talk to a doctor first. That is honest advice even though it does not sell a bottle.

What rosemary does in A

It gives A its smell

Avocado oil and argan oil both have a smell of their own.

Not a bad one, but a nutty, green one.

Rosemary sits on top of that.

It is clean and fresh, and it fades within a few minutes of putting the oil on.

It keeps the other oils fresh

All oils go bad eventually.

Air and light break them down.

That is what makes an old bottle of oil smell sour.

Rosemary is an antioxidant.

Antioxidants slow that down.

It is part of why we do not need to add a preservative.

What argan oil does for your hair

If you came here for your hair, argan oil is the ingredient in A that does the most for it.

Argan oil smooths down the outside of each strand.

That is what makes hair shine and stops it frizzing. It also helps hair break less, which means you keep more of the hair you have.

That is not the same as growing new hair. But it is real, and it is what A is actually good at.

Who should be careful

Rosemary oil is used in skincare all over the world and is considered safe at the small amounts used in products like ours.

If you are pregnant, ask your doctor before using anything with rosemary oil in it.

If you have very sensitive skin, try a little on a small patch first and wait a day.

How to use it

Three drops in your hand.
Rub your hands together.
Press it into your face, or smooth it through your hair.

For hair, start at the ends and work up.

Use it at night, in the morning, or both.

A little goes a long way.

Why rosemary oil is in A

A has three oils in it.

Nothing else.

Avocado oil. Argan oil. Rosemary oil.

Avocado oil is the base. It softens skin and helps it hold water.

Argan oil works on the surface. It makes hair smooth and shiny without weighing it down.

Rosemary is the finish.

Clean smell, and it keeps the other two fresh.

Three oils. That is the whole formula.

Questions people ask

Does rosemary oil grow hair?

One 2015 study found that pure rosemary oil, rubbed into the scalp twice a day for six months, worked about as well as minoxidil for people with pattern hair loss.

It is one study with 100 people, so it is promising rather than settled.

Will A regrow my hair?

We are not going to claim that.

A has a small amount of rosemary in it, not the pure oil the study used, and it is made for your hair and face rather than your scalp. If hair loss is your main concern, talk to a doctor.

How long did the study take to show results?

Six months.

At three months, nothing had changed in either group.

Is rosemary oil better than minoxidil?

In that one study the two came out about even, and the rosemary group had less itching.

One study is not enough to say one is better than the other.

Why is there rosemary in a face oil?

Two reasons.

It gives A a clean, fresh smell, and it is an antioxidant, which helps keep the avocado and argan oils from going bad.

Is rosemary oil safe during pregnancy?

Ask your doctor.

Advice on essential oils during pregnancy varies, and your doctor knows your situation.

Will A smell strongly of rosemary?

No.

It is a light, clean smell and it fades within a few minutes.
